Samsung Electronics has launched the AM9C1, the world’s fastest automotive SSD, on September 24, 2024. This new PCIe 4.0-based drive utilizes Samsung’s 8th-generation V-NAND technology, promising unmatched speed, reliability, and durability for next-generation connected and autonomous vehicles. The SSD offers about 50% more power efficiency compared to its predecessor, the AM991, making it an ideal solution for both electric and conventional vehicles. The SLC mode further boosts speeds up to 4,700 MB/s for reading and 1,400 MB/s for writing, while simultaneously enhancing reliability.
