How Does It Work?

The technology behind 5D memory crystals utilizes ultra-fast lasers to create self-assembled nanostructured voids within silica. Data is inscribed onto millions of nanoscale nodes, each approximately 20 nanometers in width. These nodes are stacked in a dense 5D matrix that enhances both the durability and storage capacity of the crystal.

A significant breakthrough came when the researchers successfully stored the entire human genome on one of these crystals. This achievement not only showcases the immense capacity of the crystal but also opens the door to preserving invaluable biological and historical data for future civilizations​
